Homestays & Accommodation
We aim to ensure students feel safe, comfortable, and well supported during their stay in Vancouver. IH Career College partners with carefully selected homestay providers to offer accommodation that meets local standards and supports a positive living and learning experience. All homestay arrangements operate in accordance with applicable provincial housing guidelines and tenant-related legislation, including the Residential Tenancy Act of British Columbia.
Homestay Features
- Private Room: Each student is provided with a private, clean, and comfortable bedroom.
- Furnishings: Rooms are furnished with a bed and bedding, dresser or storage space, and a designated study area.
- Shared Access: Students have reasonable access to bathroom and laundry facilities.
- Location: Homestays are typically located 30–60 minutes from campus by public transportation.
- Host Families: English-speaking host families come from diverse cultural backgrounds, reflecting Vancouver’s multicultural community. Some households may host more than one international student.
- Lifestyle Preferences: Students may indicate preferences regarding diet, smoking or non-smoking households, and the presence of children or pets.
- Included Amenities: Two or three meals per day, Wi-Fi Internet access, and a 24-hour emergency contact number.
- Airport Pickup / Return: Available upon request for an additional fee.
Homestay
Our homestays are carefully selected and located in safe and pleasant residential neighborhood’s. Homestay accommodation gives students the chance to participate in some of the family life, experience a different culture and most of all, practice their English skills at home. It typically takes between 20 to 50 minutes to get to and from the school by public transit.
Our Homestay Provides
- A private room with a bed, desk and storage space
- Half-board (breakfast and dinner)
- Shared bathroom (private bathroom available on request for an extra fee)
- Laundry facilities, TV and free internet
- Linen, towels and toilet paper
- Under 13: with parents or guardian.
For special requests (diet, size of room, specifics of family) please be advised that availability is not guaranteed and extra charges will be applied
Our Co-living Provides
- Minimum 3 months stay.
- Available to students over 19 years of age.
- Offers independent living by sharing an entire house with other students.
- Both private and shared rooms are available.
- Kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities are shared
- Internet, TV and telephone service all included
- Meals available at additional charge
